Aoife Mahon-Smith

Aoife is an Associate Director within the Patient-Centered Outcomes team at Adelphi Values, UK. Aoife provides senior leadership in the delivery of research focused on the selection, development and validation of clinical outcomes assessments (COAs). Aoife is experienced in supporting sponsors in the design and implementation of COA endpoint strategies and the execution of studies to successfully navigate regulatory landscapes. Aoife provides strategic insight into a number of methodologies including qualitative methods such as literature and instrument reviews, qualitative concept elicitation and cognitive debriefing interviews, in-trial and exit interview studies, developing reports and communications for publication. Aoife also has experience of implementing psychometric validation studies. Aoife has experience across a range of therapeutic areas including dermatology, respiratory, immunology, neurology, renal, gastroenterology, neurodivergent conditions and rare/orphan indications.
Prior to joining Adelphi Values, Aoife was a researcher at the University of Bedfordshire, a consultant researcher at the Open University and a teaching assistant at the University of Aberdeen. Aoife holds a PhD in Psychology and PgDip in Psychological Research Methods from the University of Aberdeen, an MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh, and B.A. (Hons) in Psychology from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.
