What we are looking for

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated senior individual to our Patient-Centered Outcomes team in Bollington, UK.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the fast-moving field of clinical outcome assessments and will be looking to apply and enhance their skills in a creative global healthcare consultancy. In addition to relevant qualifications in health psychology or a related social science you will have significant experience of designing, participating in, and leading projects in a patient-centered outcomes consultancy, a pharmaceutical/medical device company or a research institution. With ideally approximately 5-10 years experience of measurement strategy and developing and validating patient-reported outcome instruments or other clinical outcomes assessments, you should have an in-depth knowledge of qualitative research methods or mixed methods research, an excellent understanding of clinical research, and an appreciation of the practical and methodological challenges of evaluating treatment benefits from a patient perspective. A working knowledge of statistical techniques used in the psychometric evaluation of assessments would be an advantage.  Line management ability, strong external credibility, a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences and business leadership skills are highly desirable.

How you fit in

With strong people and business skills as well as scientific knowledge, you will help define and drive our offering in this evolving environment.  In addition to influencing internal strategy you will help brainstorm and prepare client proposals, secure future business, and provide senior scientific and strategic input to various types of projects related to health outcome assessments.  You will also play a key role in supporting more junior team members through mentoring and training, interfacing with clients and helping to enhance our external reputation.  This is an exciting and visible leadership role in which you will help design, win and deliver projects that improve patients’ lives and advance the field.
