We are looking for a Psychometrician to join our Patient-Centered Outcomes, Statistics and Programming team in our US office. The role primarily entails the planning, conduct and reporting of psychometric analyses to support the measurement properties of patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures for regulatory and market access purposes.
You will have a degree (Master’s or above preferred) in a relevant quantitative subject such as Statistics, Quantitative Psychology, Educational Measurement, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or a related field. Detailed training in classical test theory and more advanced psychometric approaches such as item response theory will be provided as required, though prior experience is preferred. Previous experience of performing statistical analyses using a programming-based software package (e.g. R, SAS, SPSS, STATA) would be advantageous, as would an understanding of the field of health outcomes research and/or drug development. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual who would relish working in a fast-paced, but fun, environment.
Candidates with strong experience in psychometric methods are also encouraged to apply, as more senior roles may be available for the right person.
With your background in quantitative methods you will join a vibrant team of statisticians, psychometricians and SAS programmers who partner with a broader team of qualitative researchers/PRO measurement specialists. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and applying new quantitative methods, with mentorship from senior staff overseeing your development into a psychometric expert. In an exciting and varied role – you will also be involved in study design, writing Psychometric Analysis Plans and working with the SAS programmers to prepare associated table shells. You will also be involved in preparing and/or reviewing psychometric analyses and providing interpretation of results. You will provide input on the psychometric elements of study reports, publications, and other deliverables and also serve as a psychometric consultant internally for the wider Adelphi Values research team. There will be the opportunity to develop your programming skills in SAS software. You will also be encouraged to publish in academic journals, present work externally at conferences, and develop your knowledge through ongoing training and academic collaboration.
