Adelphi Values takes part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in Boston
On Thursday, June 20th, 13 Adelphi Values US employees participated in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge. 12,000 runners and 571 companies helped to raise awareness for 3 not-for-profit local organisations, in a race which is regarded as the world’s most popular sporting event for the full-time business community.
This is the 3rd time in the last 4 years that Adelphi Values has taken part, and Katie from Adelphi Values who organised the team entry said “We were proud to be representing Adelphi Values in this prestigious event. It was a great turn-out and we can’t wait to do it again next year!”
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series celebrates team work, which directly speaks to two of the seven Adelphi Values defining behaviours: work collaboratively and fuel our passionate culture. The race is designed so companies and their employees can come together in a healthy, camaraderie-filled environment and each event is held on a weeknight, immediately after work. Unlike other road races, individuals cannot enter the Corporate Challenge, although all employees are eligible to enter and each company is able to register an unlimited number of entries.
This year all of the Corporate Challenge $540,000 entry fees were donated to The One Fund, to help families and victims of the bombings at the Boston Marathon on April 15th, and many of the runners sported t-shirts featuring ‘Boston Strong’, a message which has become a local slogan. The event also supported the Emerald Necklace Conservancy and the City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program.
